TJR says

The breakthrough album from the Texan trio was delivered in July, 1973, placing them as a Top 10 album act. Considering they're operating in the fields of Southern Rock and Blues Boogie, they somehow manage to stand apart, finding a bit of a groove which is not too disagreeable to my inbuilt Rock scepticism. They line-up: Billy Gibbons (guitar, vocals), Dusty Hill (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Frank Beard (drums, percussion). Speaking of the breakthrough, Gibbons said: “We could tell that we had something special. The record became quite the turning point for us. The success was handwriting on the wall, because from that point we became honorary citizens of Memphis.
