Arriving just in time for Christmas '65, “Sings Country Songs” consists mainly of Capitol sides released in the last few years, one track (“My Destiny”, a cover of The Carter Sisters and Mother Maybelle, 1954) even stretching back as far as 1960. There's a first time outing for “Kickin’ Our Hearts Around”, a song she'd gifted to Buck Owens in 1962. Album highlight, “Slippin’” was written for her by Fuzzy Owen in 1963.
