TJR says

World class pipes and drums music, compiling recordings from 1974 to 1981. As with all Tartan Army cohorts, and indeed, any true Scotsman, I'm completely powerless to resist The Grantown and District Pipe Band's “Scotland The Brave” (1976) opener; so much so that I was compelled to rustle up a video to reflect the pride. The pounding bass drum on The Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities O.T.C. Pipe Band's “I Am A Young Man” medley (1977) stirs the heart, and the aforementioned Grantown Band's “Green Hills Of Tyrol” medley (1976) is similarly grand and proud. I’m always quick to praise the likes of burundi drummers from the Zulu outbacks; it’s easy to forget that we’ve got tradition here in Scotland which can rival that stuff, and I'm reminded of this via an exciting drum burst midway through The Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band's slow air and march from 1976, “Cullen Bay”. The only black mark for the LP is the final track, “The Lord Is My Shepherd” medley (1979), the hymn tunes being too schmaltzy for my tastes.
