“Funky Kingston” by Toots and The Maytals - album review
features in: (B-list) Album Chart of 1973 ● (B-list) Album Chart of the 1970s |

Released on Dragon Records, a subsidiary of Trojan UK. The album sold well on the strength of the strong title track and the inclusion of Festival winner Pomps And Pride. Generally thought of as “a proper album” internationally, although I exclude it from proper album status on the grounds that 4 of the 8 tracks had already appeared on 1972’s “Slatyam Stoot” LP.
