“The Second Annual Report” by Throbbing Gristle - album review
features in: (B-list) Album Chart of 1977 ● (B-list) Album Chart of the 1970s |

Very few fucks seem to be given on this mostly live lo-fi affair, the biggest majority of which was primitively recorded between October 1976 and September 1977 onto a Sony cassette recorder. They line-up: Genesis P-Orridge (bass, clarinet, guitar, violin, vocals), Chris Carter (synthesizers), Cosey Fanni Tutti (guitar, vocals) and Peter Christopherson (tape processing, trumpet). Contains three versions of “Slug Bait”, a song about eating a baby. You just know there's something worthwhile at the heart of their bleak new musical vision for electronic music, but it's too too distant to touch. Released September 1977.
