“The Best Of The Wailers” by The Wailers - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1970 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1970s |

Largely recorded in May 1970 at Leslie Kong's Dynamic Sound Studios, backed by the house band, Beverly's All Stars. Against the wishes of the vocal trio - Bob Marley, Peter Tosh (who also played melodica) and Bunny Livingstone – Kong titled the set “The Best Of The Wailers”, an idle boast rather than a hard fact. Tragically, the producer died of a heart attack, aged 38, just a week after the album was released in August, 1970.
