The original 1964-1965 Animals line-up of Burdon, Price, Valentine, Chandler, and Steel had reunited for a benefit concert in Newcastle in December 1968, but it was a big surprise when they reformed in late 1975 to record again. The resulting album “Before We Were So Rudely Interrupted” duly arrived in 1977. As with Animals mkI it was basically an-all covers affair, with only 1 original onboard and, sad to say, (despite what many critics say) their 70s take on R n B was predictably dull and uninspired…
