“For Certain Because” by The Hollies - album review

features in: Album Chart of 1966Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s

TJR says

The fifth Hollies album was fully written by group members Allan Clarke, Graham Nash, and Tony Hicks, so fair play to them. The Byrds-esque “Suspicious Look In Your Eyes” is a goodie from side one, whilst “Peculiar Situation” on side two, sung by Allan, has a pop sensibility but remains earthy and kinda cool. Best of the lot is the banjo-stomp-rocker “Stop, Stop, Stop” which finishes the set on a giddy high.
