“Evolution” by The Hollies - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1967 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |

Once again all composed by the egalitarian trio of Allan Clarke, Tony Hicks and Graham Nash, “Evolution” was an attempt at taking things one step to the side of pop with an eye on the psychedelic trend of the day. They strike a chord with me towards the end of side one with the rocking “Have You Ever Loved Somebody?” and the rousing “You Need Love”; they've got it in them to be cool to the Jukebox Rebels of the world.
