“A Wee Dram O’ Scotch (Sung In The Party Spirit!)” by Stuart McDonald with The Laurie McCahill Band - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1967 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |

These “Hallmark” type party albums crack me up. A “posse” gets into the studio and makes out like they’re having the best time ever. Listening to these wazzacks clapping and hollering is much more fascinating than the “ten-a-penny” performances themselves. Who knows though - maybe they were all getting tanked up on the drambuie in the session. That would explain some of the dodgy timing on the handclapping! Having said all that, I was warming up to things at the end - it’s hard to dis great songs like “I Belong To Glasgow” and “Campbeltown Loch”. Wha’s like us? Damn few, and they’re a’ deid!
