TJR says

Raising the bar again from last year's “Dance To The Music” with only the sickly pop-funk-rock chops of “Somebody’s Watching You” registering as a miss-step. “Everyday People”, #1 in the U.S. Pop Charts as the album was released, is a fantastic highlight, urging folks to think twice about their prejudices with great lines such as “I am no better and neither are you, we are the same whatever we do” and “different strokes for different folks”. We gotta live together people! The driving horns just seal the deal. This leads into “Sex Machine”, an unlikely winner which manages to stay groovy all the way to the end of it's largely instrumental 13 minutes. “Stand!” was a success artifically and commercially, a nice balance if you can get it.
