The former R n B Queen turned accomplished gospel singer now turns to the American songbook as she channels her inner Dinah Washington. Opens promisingly enough with a big band rendition of Nellie Lutcher’s “He’s A Real Gone Guy”, but all the good work is immediately undone with a version of Shirley Temples “On The Good Ship Lollipop”.
