“Avalon” by Roxy Music - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1982 → ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1980s → |

For me, they've had no decent albums since the mid-1970s, but none were nearly so poor as this lame finale, as the MOR-session-man vibe that disappointed me on “Flesh And Blood” continues. Of course, my personal view bears no resemblance to the commercial reality. That middle-of-the-road smoothe and suave vibe was just what the would-be-yuppies wanted, and Roxy Music went out with a second consecutive #1 in the UK album charts. Lights down low baby, some Roxy, champagne? Ok, yah.
