“Rodgers And Hammerstein’s South Pacific” by Rodgers and Hammerstein - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1958 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1950s |

The stylish “I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outta My Hair” is superior to anything else on this cheese-fest, and “Happy Talk” is, admittedly, a bit of a smiler. I’m also willing to admit there is nothing like the frame of a dame. But I don’t feel the need for a choral singing session with the lads to shout about it. This is a horrible, hideous record full of psuedo-operatic cabaret-garbage. I have now filed it away never to be visited again, of that I’m 99% certain and 100% hopeful.
