TJR says

The eighth album from the 30-year-old singer-songwriter arrived in November, 1971, and would prove to be the most successful of his career, placing in the Top 5 in the U.S. and U.K. as well as yielding 3 hits singles, all of which feature on side two of the LP. His grating cover of Badfinger's “Without You” had been released as the album's lead single 4 weeks earlier, and was on it's way to the #1 spot on both sides of the Atlantic. There's no accounting for taste. MUCH better was the follow-up single “Jump Into The Fire”, an intense Stones-esque rocker with some incessant piano and an amazingly decadent bass by Herbie Flowers which is fabulously wild. Alas, this beauty is a completely isolated occurrence. His follow up single to that was an embarrassment, relatively speaking, a cod-calypso clunker “Coconut”, complete with attempted Caribbean accents. He's not an artist to be taken seriously.
