“Out Of Different Bags” by Marlena Shaw - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1967 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |
Debut album from the 24-year-old New Yorker, recently spotted playing the Chicago Jazz clubs by Chess Records A&R men, the record being issued on their subsidiary, Cadet Records. The Jazz supper-club thing is not my bag, but at least “Nothing But Tears” shows signs that she's possibly got something to offer as a soul groover.
