“Metal Machine Music” by Lou Reed - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1975 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1970s |
In 2011, Lou Reed stated that Metallica fans had threatened to shoot him due to the collaboration on “Lulu”. In response to this and the overall negative reaction to the album, Reed commented, “I don’t have any fans left. After Metal Machine Music (1975), they all fled. Who cares? I’m essentially in this for the fun of it.” I’m with Lou Reed all the way. Artists should remain free and uninhibited. We can like it or lump it. I’m totally cool wth it. This one’s for lumping mind you… and Lou can like or lump my review. Who cares? I’m only reviewing for the fun of it!
