“África Brasil” by Jorge Ben - album review
features in: (B-list) Album Chart of 1976 ● (B-list) Album Chart of the 1970s ● 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die |
A much celebrated LP fusing samba with funk, now with more electric guitar than ever before. Classed as a “b-lister” since 4 of the tracks are reworkings from his back albums, one of which, “Taj Mahal”, would be used by Rod Stewart for the backbone of his '78 megahit “Da Ya Think I'm Sexy?”.
