“Storm Windows” by John Prine - album review

Recorded at Muscle Shoals Sound Studios in Alabama, largely going for the full-band production, to my dismay. These people are almost always as boring as hell. Suffice to say I'm not lovin' ol' John as much on this one, although I'll take two keepers; the largely acoustic “Sleepy Eyed Boy”, where the affecting glory of his storytelling style is allowed to shine through, just as is does on “One Red Rose” over on side two.
