A monster double LP set to revel in. Hurrah! To boot, Brenda Lee Eager’s invited back for a couple of duets. “Oh good” I think to myself (not). However, one of them, “You Can’t Always Tell” turns out to be the best of a bad bunch, she’s kinda classy like Betty Wright on that one, her previous warbling giving way to a more genuinely soulful performance rather than the technical voice training excercise routine that I feared. Elsewhere, there are are four tracks which I officially register as “pathetically abysmal”. These are new depths for the bold Jerry…
