“Crown Of Creation” by Jefferson Airplane - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1968 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1960s |

Although these late 60s rock bands were largely tiresome to me, there's always something appealing on Jefferson Airplane albums, and it's usually down to Grace Slick, the star attraction. Her anti-societal “Lather” opens the set; it's ok to do your own thing and to hell with norms. Best of the lot is the album's anti-war closer, “The House At Pooneil Corners”, an ominous heavy-sludge rocker which gets my head nodding musically and lyrically. It's right on. Won't someome think of the little bears?
