“Who Will Save The World? The Mighty Groundhogs” by Groundhogs - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1972 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1970s |
Socially conscious sixth album from the gritty London trio who line up: Tony McPhee (guitars, mellotron, harmonium, vocals), Peter Cruikshank (bass) and Ken Pustelnik (drums). Carrying a strong image, the artwork, drawn by professional comic illustrator Neal Adams, depicts the three as superheroes out to tackle Earth's ills; over-population, pollution and warmongers. A noble fail with way too much showboating.
