“Get Away” by Georgie Fame and The Blue Flames - album review
features in: (B-list) Album Chart of 1966 ● (B-list) Album Chart of the 1960s |
Issued in October 1966, this is the American version of the “Sweet Things” LP which was issued in the UK 6 months earlier. It’s an inessential soul covers album although the American set benefits from the additions of two of Georgie’s own compositions - the swinging hit “Get Away” and the jangly soul groover “El Bandido”, both of which are included at the expense of “Dr Kitch” and “My Girl”.
