TJR says

Following on from February's “A Trick Of The Tail”, the new Phil-Collins-fronted incarnation of Genesis delivered a second long player in '76, released just in time for Christmas. By now, I can barely conceal my utter hatred for their insipid brand of oh-so-well crafted progressive pop. Out in the big world their stock remains strong, with the album hitting #7 in both the UK and the US, their strongest showing to date in the latter market. All is not as rosy as it seems however, with more friction within the ranks; guitarist Steve Hackett is not best pleased at his material being excluded at the expense of keyboardist Tony Banks work. Hackett would soon leave but, alas, the other three would soldier on with their masterplan to torture punks.
