10 originals and 1 cover on this set, as the group trace their recent roots by tackling “I May Be Right” a folk-rocker originally done by The Big 3 in 1964. Pass marks to “I’d Rather Be Right Than Wrong”, the only tune which carries any sense of cool – once again I note cool basslines and swirling organ – the key ingredients of the tracks which got pass marks on the debut album. The rest is just too lightweight – as other critics have noted this really is clean-cut pop-rock for the Monkees crowd…
