“San Francisco Dues” by Chuck Berry - album review
| features in: Album Chart of 1971 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1970s |
Not too bad, but not too great either. Another kinda predictable set of “Chuck by numbers”, all penned by the man himself (although how “Bordeaux In My Pirough” doesn’t credit Hank Williams for “Jamabalya” seems quite ridiculous). The LP includes 8 brand new recordings with 2 tracks which were recorded back in 1966 - “Lonely School Days”, the album’s finest moment which had actually been out on the b-side to “Ramona Say Yes” (Chess 1963) back in June 1966, and “Viva Rock And Roll”, which was previously unreleased.
