“Plastic Letters” by Blondie - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1978 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1970s |
There’s plenty of high-class action on the first side of “Plastic Letters” with the two glorious singles, “Denis” (the album’s sole cover) and “(I’m Always) Touched By Your Presence Dear” being the killer highlights. As a singles band, they’ve been immaculate to date, surely one of the best in the world at this time. Very few of the album cuts get close to the power and the glory of the 45s, but the pop-punk of “I’m On E” (which closes side 1) and the new wave pop of “I Didn’t Have The Nerve To Say No” (which opens up side 2) register well with me.
