“Spirits Having Flown” by Bee Gees - album review
features in: Album Chart of 1979 ● Album Chart of the Decade: 1970s |

Following on from the monster success of the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack in which they were heavily involved, the Bee Gees new LP in early '79 (their first since '76) shot to number one both sides of the Atlantic and in territories all over the world. Amazingly, they registered three consecutive number one single in the US with “Too Much Heaven”, “Tragedy” and “Love You Inside Out”, all of which open the set here. “Tragedy” aside, it's all pretty pathetic sounding to me, by far the worst of the 5 Bee Gees albums that I own.
